ABOUT ME

Raymond Walker is the author of  Thirteen novels, five compendiums of short stories, a couple of novellas and two books of poetry. He was born in 1962 and raised in  Campbeltown, Argyll before moving to Edinburgh to attend university.

His love of the countryside, forests, mountains and the relics of his native Scotland are reflected deeply in his writing. His tales echo the dark past and history, the unknown places and wonders of Scotland at the point where reality dips into fantasy until nothing is quite as it seems.

Never bound by genre his books range from romances and ghost stories to historical fiction and fantasy. He is the winner of several writing competitions and his books have received critical acclaim worldwide. He currently resides in Prestwick, Scotland and is working on two new novels;  both of which will be released this year. The first, has the title

You may well have noticed that many of my short stories, my novels and novellas, no matter how distinct from each other, have a theme of sorts. It is not Fantasy, Science fiction, nor even horror or ghostly tales. Rather a thing that they all have in common and that Is the weather of Scotland. It is a beast that torments and humiliates us; strange, stormy and forbidding, in the winter. Often even in the summer and it plays always upon the lives of those that live in "This Northern Land", so much so that I have decided to add a weather forecast to the site. I have set it to Ayr, but you can check anywhere on it.

I hope that you check it often and my blog along with it.

Also there are cool wee pictures.
