The Lure of Success
Two new books out within the month of January, due to circumstanses rather than planning, again I imagine that success is finaly on the horizon. The fact that I have published nearly twenty books before this and never had a sniff of success does not detract from that feeling of incipient stardom.
Of course, I say, before you ask, I am indeed clutching at straws and really expect nothing from my new novels other than that a few read and enjoy them. For that matter I really do not wish for stardom or even the money associated with such things (though it would be nice) but simply that people like and appreciate my books. It, of course, is a "quid pro quo" thing, as I know that the few that read my books lay themselves open to a challenge. They are not the easiest to read, for one, the concepts are odd, (for two) often, and I am not the greatest writer out there. There are too few characters and too much story for them (for three).
I am well aware of my faults and inconsistancies and do not seek to hide them but rather revel in the oddness and so hope that other odd people, like me, enjoy them.
"The River Girl's Torment" has only two characters in the whole novel and both of them odd and forlorn, out of place in the world of today and that is why I like them so much. " Nut Brown Eyes" has only three characters; two as odd as can be imagined, the other, the storyteller, Rob, as normal as normal could be In todays world and a nice fellow overall despite his obvious faults.
Damaged and different but nice in his own abnormal way.
I personaly like these two short novels and if you have read any of my books or read of me then you will know that I do not always say that of my novels. There have been a couple that I have disliked.
I like these two and hope that if you take a chance on reading them that you do to.
