A Great Author talking of her wonderful new book is coming to visit.
I am very pleased to announce that as part of her blog tour the author, Hazel West is coming onto my blog to do a feature. Her new Novel "Blood Ties" is fantastic and I will be so pleased to welcome her here to my humble space.
If it is possible, keep the seventh of March free to read what she has to say.
It will come as no surprise to any that read my blog or view my webpages that I am a big fan of folklore and myth. Many of my own tales involve the land of faerie and host mythical creatures.
Of course these are mainly of my own invention and rarely based upon actual mythology but as you can imagine it is a great interest of mine. I read Beowulf when I was in my early teens and that led onto the Icelandic Sagas, the Irish, Welsh and Scot's mythologies, the common ghost stories and legends, always, have they facinated me.
Hazel, (I hope that she does not mind me calling her by her first name) writes of well known Irish mythology In her new novel "Blood Ties" Finn MacCool and the Goblin king pit thier wits and strength against each other again but with the added dimenson of the book being set in the modern world.
This will seem odd at first, difficult to reconcile, awkward and unusual especialy for an old fellow such as I but your mind grasps it, adheres to it and before you know you are caught up in the tale.
I found this a refreshing take on ancient myths, clever and worth a read.
I am looking forward to welcoming her.
