The River Girl finally finds a little peace.
As all that read here will be aware I released two new books almost simultaneously at the turn of the year. "Nut Brown Eyes" and "The River Girls Torment" it was not really my choice to do so but rather circumstances dictated that it should be so. Nut Brown Eyes" was an old novella, rewritten and adapted slightly as an anniversary edition and "The River Girls Torment" was my new novel.
Nut Brown Eyes is a well loved book and has always sold in reasonable quantities even if it has never reached the bestsellers listings and has served me well in terms of income and gaining new readers. I was worried, seriously worried, about this competition from myself, two books out at the same time and I am no literary star that sells millions of copies of whatever he writes.
I worried that "Nut Brown Eyes" always having sold well would eclipse the new novel and at first my fears were justified as It sold rather well for a short period. Yet as sales for "Nut " began to tail off, perhaps those afficionadoes wishing to read the new version having already bought it sales of "The River Girls Torment" began to rise about which I am very glad.
I do not mean from the money point of view, even if I am always glad of a little extra cash, but rather for the fact that I personaly liked the story and the idea behind it, I'm a sucker for a little fantasy romance, and so I am very glad that it is finaly selling.
