The things that turn me on.

Oh do not get to excited by the title as I am not talking of strange and exciting sexually depraved deviencies or acts here but rather of books. Bloody authors I bet you are thinking, so dull all that all they wish to speak of are books. I am no different from that breed other than that I am a thinker. I love the most complex of tales, those that make me think, imagine, recall. I am a fan of unusual fiction (though I tend to write in the norm) and I love it when a great writer recreates all our thoughts and ideas on such a staid landscape. Ian Banks writing in pidgin English and mathematical terminology. Gregory Benford explaining the concepts of galactic physics within a sci fi tale, or even Sir Walter Scott, explaining the meaning of "Scotland" to "English" lords in the only terms that concerned them "Money, wealth and happiness" In the letters of Malacai Malagrowther. I like when the writing challenges me and that I have to think, or even if it astounds (such as Herman Hesse or Peter Hoeg with their astonishing descriptive prowess) I enjoy literature extensively but I enjoy it more when it is strange, different, unusual. Lol- I utter the words. Challenge me.
